Water Rate Increase

At the City Council meeting on November 18th, correspondence was read from Southwest Water Authority (SWA) informing us of a water rate increase of .27 cent/1000 gallons. This rate increase will go into affect on January 1, 2020. The City Council voted unanimously to notify the State Water Commission they were opposing the rate increase by SWA.

After review of projected income and expenses, on December 16th the City Council voted to increase water rates .27/1000 effective January 1, 2020. It is important to know the City does not take rate increases lightly. We have reduced expenses as much as possible and yet to remain cost efficient. We will continue to work diligently in providing customers with quality water and quality service. We look forward to serving you in the New Year.
